Boom's CEO on Making America Supersonic Again
Blake Scholl thinks flying doesn't have to suck
We’ve already written about Boom’s supersonic flight that took place last week in The Mojave. You should read the piece because it has an awesome headline.
Before the flight took place, though, we spent about a 40 minutes on site with Boom’s CEO Blake Scholl to talk about the test, the company and the perilous, costly journey that comes with trying to make commercial supersonic flight real again.

I wrote the first story ever on Boom way back in 2016. It led to this photo in Bloomberg Businessweek magazine. Blake was okay with my story but did NOT appreciate the photo. We get into that, why we’re back on speaking terms and much, much more of actual substance in the interview.
In case you haven’t noticed, it’s Mojave Week at Core Memory. And we’ve got one more treat in store coming shortly.
