Some people do not care for Nathan Myhrvold.

The former Microsoft CTO has been slagged off in recent years as a patent troll and a world-destroying geoengineering enthusiast, among other things. I, however, find Myhrvold fascinating.

He’s a super rich fella who has thrown money at his passions in style. He’s done ground-breaking work in fields as diverse as photography, space research, paleontology, clean energy and, for our immediate purposes, food.

A couple of months ago, I paid a visit to Myhrvold’s food laboratory to sample what might be the world’s most perfect pizza.
